Dozens of notebooks on a refurbishment conveyor, each connected to power and network, running Wipe-Global on screen

Diagnostics & certified erasure

Erase the drive.
Test the machine.
One pass.

The wipe is the long job. While it runs, the software is testing everything else — keyboard, display, battery, ports, graphics, system. That shortens the total run, not just the handling. It runs on your floor, offline if your rules require it.

Why customers choose us

It runs where the data already is.

Two constraints decide most of these deals before anything else is discussed. We are built for both of them.

In-house

The data never leaves your building.

Everything runs on your own hardware, on your own floor. For banks, defence suppliers and enterprises under a strict security guideline, that is not a preference — it is the condition that makes the work possible at all.

Offline

No network required.

Our software suite can be operated offline too. External service partners are frequently forbidden one, and a wiping room in a secure facility often has no network at all. Neither stops a run.

How it works

Fast, because nothing
waits its turn.

A certified erasure runs for as long as the method and the capacity demand — often hours. That time is already being spent, so the hardware diagnostic runs inside it instead of after it.

When the erase finishes, the grading has finished too. On a line where the two runs used to be roughly comparable in length, that takes close to half the time out of the total — and the result is the same certificate and the same test report.

The suite

toolstar®testLX with shredderLX — one suite for your business.

Diagnostics and certified erasure in a single self-booting environment. The two halves below are the same product family: shredderLX does the erasure, testLX does the testing, and they run together in one pass.

Certified erasure

toolstar®shredderLX

  • Self-booting and operating-system independent, for universal use
  • Erases all data from various media securely and irretrievably
  • For PC, servers, notebooks, tablets, IPC, PoS and much more
  • Supports HDD, ATA SSD, NVMe SSD, USB, SD card and much more
  • Meaningful protocols (TXT/PDF/HTML/XML/JSON) with serial numbers, and encrypted erase certificates (PDF) that prove your work, carry your company logo and take up to 20 custom fields
  • Freely configurable and automated for your individual use
  • The standard edition sanitises up to 4 drives at the same time
  • SecureErase and Enhanced SecureErase for fast, secure erasure of SATA HDDs and SSDs

  • Memory — seven different memory tests, detailed SPD EEPROM information
  • Hard drive tests — mechanical test and access time, fast read benchmark, read test with command duration analysis, write test, SSD SMART and NVMe SMART and more
  • Graphics cards — test images and primary colours, graphics memory tests, 3D benchmark, computing stress test, computing benchmark
  • Speaker and sound — audio input and output
  • Interfaces such as WLAN, USB, COM and LPT
  • Network — ping, loopback, reactivity
  • Hardware monitoring — watch temperatures, fan speeds and voltages change live on screen
  • Input devices such as mouse, keyboard and touchscreen
  • Power supply for mobile devices (tablets, notebooks and so on) — current battery status against the manufacturer's figures, plus a battery charging test

What comes out of it

Every run leaves a record.

The erasure protocol names the method that actually ran, the drive it ran against and the result. It is the document your customer or your auditor asks for.

Mass production refurbishment

The notebook line is the core of it.

Most of what we do runs on a conveyor. Devices arrive, get connected, get erased and graded together, and leave with their paperwork attached. The line scales from a workbench to a hall.

The same line, from the floor. Hundreds of devices under test at once.
A refurbishment hall on two levels, with benches, staged hardware and a packing line
And at hall scale, where the volume actually lives.

700 in one run

The largest lines start hundreds of notebooks together and walk away.

Or five

A repair shop or midsize refurbisher runs 5 to 50 devices at a time. Same software, same certificates.

Scripted per line

Which tests run, in what order, against what pass criteria — written to match the target, not a fixed template.

What we cover

From the notebook line to the cash machine.

Server, storage and loose drives

Enterprise refurbishment has different demands. We meet yours.

For your server, storage or loose-drive business we have the right solution to support you. From 10 to 100+ drives — diagnose, erase, repair and test, up to high-end stress testing.

Your operation gains from flexible settings and free automation scripting, and every drive is documented — a wiping certificate for each one, plus the diagnostic test protocols. Online or offline, as your rules allow. The cost saving is underlined by licensing with unlimited use during the licence term.

Certified erasure

A certificate for every device.
A method you can name.

Every product we ship is certified. The method you need is the method you pick — from a single-pass clear to a 35-run Gutmann, plus the drive's own firmware commands where the hardware supports them.

Who we serve

Six kinds of operation.

01

IT and mobile refurbishers

Mass production. One customer starts 700 notebooks in a single run; a smaller line runs 5 to 50 devices at a time.

02

Recyclers

Volume drive clearing with per-drive evidence for the downstream buyer.

03

IT and mobile retailers

From a single repair shop to a retail chain — trade-in qualification at the counter, processing behind it.

04

IT service organisations

In-house teams exchanging hardware, and external partners who are not permitted an internet connection at all.

05

Centralised warehouses

One site taking returns and decommissioned hardware in from many others. Throughput and a consistent audit trail across every source matter more than any single device.

06

Enterprises with high security standards

Wipe and diagnose in-house before a device is re-issued, sold to staff, or sold on in bulk.
